Unable to look up translation in a specific dictionary

Make sure the dictionary is present on the selected bookshelf

Dictionaries on the chosen bookshelf are used in translation. Icons of these dictionaries appear above the word list if the bookshelf has not been hidden.

1. Choose the required translation direction in the main window.
2. Click the Dictionaries button on the bookshelf. A list of dictionaries will be displayed.
   
3. Make sure there is a checkmark opposite the dictionary you require. If not, click the dictionary title and it will be placed on the bookshelf.
4. If the list does not contain the required dictionary, this means the dictionary has not been added to ABBYY Lingvo.

Make sure the dictionary is not disabled

If the dictionary icon on the bookshelf is not depressed, this means the dictionary is disabled and not used in translation.

To enable the dictionary, click its icon.

Note. The same dictionary can be placed on several bookshelves. When you enable or disable a dictionary on one bookshelf, its status does not change on other bookshelves.

Make sure the dictionary is accessible

If the dictionary icon on the bookshelf is inactive (gray), this means the dictionary is inaccessible.
